Pickpick

Just finished rereading the whole trilogy again. ❤❤❤ Hard to put into words how much I love these books -- at least in THIS few words.

Here's a pic of when Eclair and Biscuit fell asleep cwtched up on me, instead. #BunniesofLitsy Good thing I have ebooks on my phone...

Gezemice So cute! They look almost like my new bunnies, Gwen and Midna! 3w
shanaqui @Gezemice They're a year old now! Who authorised that??? 3w
Gezemice Hmm authorised.. I don‘t know but it is awesome. Mine are only four months old but are huge already! 6 pounds each! We think they will be at least 10 pounds... 3w
Clare-Dragonfly So cute! 🐰❤️🐰❤️ 3w

“‘I‘m given to understand,‘ said translator Zeiat thoughtfully, ‘that most, if not all, humans, are built by other humans. If that‘s a disqualification for significance, which I‘m not sure it is, if that‘s a disqualification for significance then NO, I don‘t like it one bit.‘” The Presger are just the best.
Pictured: this year‘s first bloom on my cherry brandy hibiscus, a housewarming gift from @brandybear22 when we‘d just started dating 🥰 🌺

“I would like to point out that as soon as lieutenant Ekalu let you know that actually, your intended compliment was offensive to her, you immediately stopped trying to be nice.”
OH DAMN, SHIP.

suzisteffen Yeah, Ship KNOWS.

Such great world-building! An excellent second installation in this series.
To the performance, while I love the narrator as an actress, her character voices tend toward the shrill and are very hard for me to tolerate, especially in the car or directly in my ears.

“Eggs are so inadequate, don‘t you think? I mean, they ought to be able to become *anything*, but instead you always get a chicken, or a duck, or whatever they‘re programmed to be. You never get anything interesting like, ”regret,‘ or, ‘The middle of the night last week.‘”
Translator Glick brings some delightful whimsy a la Phantom Tollbooth to this fascinating series that is largely told from the POV of, and about, somewhat mechanical characters.

suzisteffen Omg I love these books so much. 6mo
rretzler Love this series - and Breq. 6mo

I was updating my reading on LibraryThing and realized I hadn‘t continued this series (got wrapped up in school reading). Amending!

Here‘s the thing, y‘all: I read ANCILLARY JUSTICE for the hype and picked up ANCILLARY SWORD because I was a Hugo voter the year it was nominated, but MERCY? I don‘t have a compelling reason to finish it. I can appreciate what Leckie does here, but I‘m not drawn to the story and I have no emotional investment in the characters.

I hit 44% on my morning run and decided that was it. Time to listen to something else.

rretzler I think it‘s a series that you either really like or really don‘t - there doesn‘t appear to be much middle ground. I happened to think they were wonderful but I understand that they‘re not for everyone! 7mo
xicanti @rretzler I wouldn‘t say I disliked the series. I just wanted more of an emotional hook than I got. Without that, I liked the first two just fine but didn‘t find them especially memorable, aside from the pronouns, and I wasn‘t able to sink into this third one. 7mo

I wasn‘t quite fast enough to catch this deer in the middle of the road, where she was much easier to see. #audiowalk #litsywalkers

I took an excellent #audiowalk with a dog who refused to look at the camera. At least this pic shows off his lush coat and the Cavalier lucky spot on top of his head. #litsywalkers
