Bookquilter OMG! My mom gave this to us when the boys were little and my 15 year old is adamant that we hang it on Christmas Eve. We always had the kid who found it choose the board game we play after dinner. 6y

Elizabeth2 This is a tradition in my family, too. We host Christmas every year now, and there is a surprise gift under the tree for the person who finds the pickle. (Its usually a personal package of fabulous homemade Chex Mix from my mom‘s recipe - she‘s the one who started the pickle tradition in our family.) It is so much fun for everyone to crowd around the tree to search for the pickle! (edited) 6y

DreesReads I had never heard of this--and neither my mom (2gt grandparents from England) or dad (all grandparents from Italy) had. My mother-in-law's family has done it since...Germany?...so my husband thought it was normal. Yes we do it now. I had to get a new tiny pickle now that the kids are teens! 6y
