I had two teachers for English Literature A level - one who told us NOT TO BOTHER READING WUTHERING HEIGHTS despite it being one of the 'ghost stories' that we had to write an essay about because "you won't have time to read all three books and you can get what you need to know from study guides" ? & another teacher who gave us books like this that weren't on the syllabus because he thought we should read them ?
