The risen dead, bone houses, have also been held back by the boundaries of the forest. Something about the curse has shifted and now the dead are crossing the boundary.

This was between a pick and a so-so for me. I enjoyed the world building, but I didn‘t find myself caring as much about the characters.

First book in my #dewysreadathon pile is this beautiful novel by the writer of Practical Magic. It's about a sideshow circus performer and the immigrant boy she falls in love with so this also counts as my #booktober #day22 #immigrantstories as well.
