A man is killed, his widow allows her silence to be bought, and the POVs of 6 people intertwine until all is revealed. It sounds like it should be great but it was just ok. On to the next.

The story - told they several points of view and timelines - keeps you strung along wondering what really happened, how, why, and what now. A heavy topic, lightly told with mystery, suspense, romance, intrigue. It was a quick and enjoyable read.

Been awhile since I've read James Patterson, now I remember why I use to read him a lot... Fun, fast pace, entertaining story. I listen to the audiobook on YouTube. Not for sure who the narrator is but his voice was captivating and I spent a much needed lazy day in bed N bringe this book today

SolaRaynor I read my first James Patterson thriller, “Blindside“, last month. I'll have to check this one out! 2y
BookedBySunrise @SolaRaynor , I've read quite a few of his.. My favorite is Beach Road. 2y
SolaRaynor @MoBee Cool! I will keep that in mind :) 2y

This debut novel by Susan Walter pulls you right in and keeps you turning the pages. It's very well written and you truly like the characters. The descriptions are very well done and the execution of the story is great.
It definitely starts off with a promise. A promise to take care of everything. If you keep quiet. If you don't tell. If you can just move on and accept what happened. Holly and her daughter, Savannah, have their worlds torn apart.

I an in two minds with this one. On the one hand, I liked the plot & I really wanted to know what was going to happen next, but on the other hand, the characters were drawn rather thinly & I didn't feel as if I was connecting with them at all. The twists of the plot were not a surprise, but I did think it was a decent read. 3⭐

Thanks to NetGalley & publishers, Lake Union Publishing, for the opportunity to read an ARC.

A mass murder,, apparently by an elite Army unit, the Night Ninjas. All evidence points to that, but when Major Cook investigates, he finds clues that suggest that all may not be as they seem. The local cops and the Military people want him to go home. This is an open and shut case, why stir up trouble?
But Major Cook will stop at nothing to get to the truth! Please read my review from here https://rb.gy/luyccu
