1) I always decorate, even the years I lived in a tenement with neither room nor money for a tree. I made a flat tree out of cardboard scraps, cheap paint, & takeout containers.
2) Although I'm not Christian now, I still have a love for nativity scenes. We somehow have 7 of them!
3) Oldies are the best, traditional carols and classical. But I do have a soft spot for Willie's song “Pretty Paper“ about a street person.

so-soThis book was ok. It was fun hearing the stories about the composers and inspirations behind many popular Christmas songs. The author didn't delve behind his white Christian lense, though, which really showed when he talked about the history of o-tannenbaum without really saying anything about the appropriation of fir tree traditions ( he said Christians liked those traditions). I wonder how much was misconstrued or left out by his narrow lense?
Watched Michael Buble's Christmas special tonight. Definitely has the voice for those Christmas classics.

OK, so this is sorta kinda book-related, and in this time of recognizing stellar small businesses it is definitely relevant.
