Pickpick

A fun mystery where the Queen solves the mystery from behind the scenes. A little long with lots of characters so the end confused me a bit with the twists, but I liked the Queen and her helper Rosie. A quirky part of me is that I have found out that I don‘t like reading fiction about living people as it feels invasive. While this was a positive portrayal of the Royals, I felt a little creepy getting a peek into their lives. ⬇️

katy4peas Still an enjoyable mystery with likable characters. 👍🏼 My copy was an ALC from #libro.fm for librarians. Publish date is March 8th! 😊 3y
MsMelissa I completely understand about not wanting to read about living people. I refuse to watch The Crown for that reason. I tried to read this one, but bailed because it felt like I was reading William and Kate fan fiction 3y

katy4peas @MsMelissa My mom won‘t watch The Crown either. She says she respects the Royal family too much to watch the lives be portrayed in a fictitious way. I won‘t watch it either. Plus, we have other issues with it. We are very picky about our period drama and that one didn‘t make the cut for other reasons! But that was one of them! Overall, this read was enjoyable, but it creeped me out a bit to hear mentions of little George and Charlotte, etc. 🤷‍♀️ 3y
katy4peas This one was interesting too as it gave me some Victoria vibes, and I did enjoy that show on Masterpiece very much. 3y
katy4peas The Royal We sounds like total fan fiction. I don‘t think I could get through that one either. I‘m not sure I would get through another of these except I did like that the Queen was a Miss Marple in secret. At any rate, it might be a bit before the next comes out. 3y
MsMelissa That‘s one of the reasons I won‘t watch it either. I didn‘t want the Victoria series either, although that was mainly because I rarely watch any TV. I generally love period pieces 😊 3y
