Given my past several months reading stats, my March TBR is pretty aggressive but 5 are for book tour reviews & a few I have started already. (I did a bad job on keeping up with #thescentkeeperbuddyread but I just got the e-book so🤞🏻) Standouts for me are the tagged book (my hold came in today from the library!) & Alone in the Wild, two series I love. 😍 So this is what I hope to get to this month.

Soubhiville I liked it! I really enjoyed the use of blended aromas to inspire emotions. The way Mom‘s company used that to manipulate shoppers is obviously unethical, but the idea is interesting to me. I was happy with the resolution of Em and Fisher‘s story. I didn‘t like Em‘s mother, and I was surprised but also happy that Em gave her that last chance at the end. I also like where the story ended, letting the reader decide where that goes. 4y

Hooked_on_books I agree with @Soubhiville . I did like the resolution of the book. The thing I didn‘t like is how Emmeline found Fisher again. It felt contrived just to get them back together, though I did like the rest of their story. I really enjoyed this book and I may or may not have read it otherwise so thanks for the buddy read! 4y

Emmeline grows up on an isolated island with her father. Events eventually bring her to the mainland and further in her search for self and belonging. The book and Emmeline‘s world are suffused with the importance of scent. I really enjoyed this and could have read it quickly if not for #TheScentKeeperBuddyRead. I found one plot point to be forced, but it‘s an otherwise great book. And the hardback cover is waaaay better than this one.

I love Erica Bauermeister‘s writing. She‘s become an autobuy author for me.

This one was very different from her other books, in that it stays with one main character through the entire book. It is similar to her others in the depth of description of scents and emotions. Beautiful as I knew it would be.

Hooked_on_books I haven‘t, but I discovered that I have School for Essential Ingredients somewhere on my shelves. So I‘ll definitely be reading that one! I‘ve read a couple chapters so far of the last section and I don‘t like how she found Fisher again. It rang false to me. And the use of scents as manipulation rankles. I‘m guessing that‘s a set-up for her to return to the coast. It‘s good! 4y

robinb This was my first by her, and I simply fell in love with her writing! Gorgeous! From this book alone, I think she's also become an auto-buy for me too. I think I also have the one @hooked_on_books mentioned (haven't read it yet)...I need to delve into her backlist. 4y

robinb @Crazeedi it‘s a very original, different story. Her writing is very lyrical here. I‘m anxious to read her other stuff...hope it‘s wonderful as well. Enjoy when you get to it! 😊 FYI, I originally received this one as an ARC on my Kindle. I loved it so much that I HAD to have a physical copy...that rarely happens for me. 😊 4y

CoffeeNBooks I wonder if Henry knew that Emmeline would leave again right away after he gave her the bottle? I wonder what's going on with Fisher, and I feel bad for Emmeline that she can't find him. I'm curious about how the situation with Emmeline and her mother is going to work out. 4y

Soubhiville At first I was so frustrated that Emmeline followed Fisher, she has a perfect life at the cove. But I understand wanting to look for her mom as well. I can‘t help but hope that F and E get back together by the end. I don‘t have a great feeling about the fancy life of her mom. Overall I‘m really enjoying this and I can‘t wait to finish it too! 4y

Hooked_on_books I suspect Henry and Colette both knew Emmeline would leave again. Just maybe not when. I don‘t think she‘ll find Fisher and I suspect the arrangement with her mother won‘t last. I don‘t know that they‘re really connecting as people and I don‘t feel like her mother is really committed to being her mother. I had such a hard time stopping at the end of the section! @Soubhiville 4y

CoffeeNBooks @Hooked_on_books I'm almost done with the book now- I couldn't wait to find out what would happen, so I started reading the rest of the book after I posted this today. 🤣 4y

DanaManiac I couldn‘t fight the temptation to stop 🙈! I took notes, though and at this point, I was thinking that something seems odd about her mom- her life seems very cold and clinical and her reaction to finding Emmeline was underwhelming. Also- I feel that Emmaline is searching for a place to belong since leaving the island, and Fisher is that place. I hope she finds him and/or finds peace. 4y
