I looked through a list of GOAT sports books and saw this, which is about sports I‘ll actually watch… and besides the fact that the title is making me rethink if I should actually be watching these sports… I still have zero interest in reading this book. #BookBinge @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
What an interesting book this is. Bev Smith has been a figure skating insider and trusted journalist for decades and in this book, she really takes figure skating lovers behind the curtains... talking to athletes, judges, coaches and other overlooked people in the skating community. If you haven't read this one yet, you need to!
pickI really enjoyed this book set during the 1890‘s in NYC. A fun and pleasant read about Lucinda, a young girl left orphaned for the year while her parents went to Italy for her mothers health. The adult reader in me though was a bit miffed that a plot point was left unresolved. As a child I probably would have been ok with it but the adult in me needs all the answers!
