One of my absolute favorite books - based on a true story. Iceland 1828. Agnes is convicted of murder and spends her last days with the local law enforcement agent and his family. Yes, they are living under the same roof, and Agnes works alongside the family. Kent‘s debut novel is so lyrical and gorgeous, yet dark and foreboding.
