Are you looking for a short-term, low commitment #readingchallenge?
What better way to beat the winter blues & welcome spring than with a 4 month, 7 book challenge to #ReadTheRainbow from January to April?
It‘s simple. Read one book for each color of the 🌈 . Choose a book with the color on the cover or in the title.
Sound like fun & a challenge you can accomplish?
I hope you‘ll join me!

lele1432 Sounds fun! 1mo

#ReadtheUSA2020 #ReadingChallenges2020

We have some interest in this challenge that @Librarybelle started last year . The goal is to read a book set in each state during 2020. If you‘d like to get started now on planning, reading, etc , that‘s fine. @jessinikkip @TheAromaofBooks @CoffeeNBooks @Hestapleton @ljuliel
We can all cheer each other on . Grab a map , and let‘s get started. All are welcome. Where will YOU start ?

jessinikkip Yay! I cant wait. This year I only got like 15 states 🤦 1mo
Addison_Reads I did this one this year and had a lot of fun with it. 1mo
ljuliel Here‘s your chance @jessinikkip . You can even have a head start ! 1mo

marleed I joined Litsy in the late spring of 2019 so I‘m looking forward to my first yearly challenges of 2020. It will be fun to alternate between the states and the readingEurope challenge. I doubt I‘ll complete both but I‘m sure it will impact the choices I make! 1mo
ljuliel @Addison_Reads You‘re one of the others who finished ? Sorry, I couldn‘t remember who else completed it. Can we tag you for help if we get stuck on a state ? 1mo
ljuliel It‘ll be great to have you @marleed 😊 1mo
marleed @ljuliel Haha - I just suspended my hold on the book woman of troublesome creek so I‘ll have Kentucky ready to go in January! 1mo
CoffeeNBooks Yay! I'm looking forward to it. Thanks @ljuliel! 1mo
ljuliel Sounds great @marleed We‘re so close to January, I don‘t think it‘d hurt if we started now, so anyone that wants to can start early. I‘m just researching which state I want to start with. I know what subject I want to go with , so I just have to find the right book . 1mo
Addison_Reads @ljuliel Yes, I finished this year. Just last week actually. 😁 I'd be happy to help out if needed. Feel free to tag me with any questions. I'd participate again, but I going to try the Europe one this year. I glad someone is doing it again though. 1mo
ljuliel Thanks for the tags @jessinikkip . I didn‘t remember who all was in the group from last year. 1mo
ljuliel Looking forward to having you join in @CoffeeNBooks ❤️ 1mo
Cinfhen I never did this challenge @jessinikkip but I‘ve enjoyed watching everyone‘s progress🤗congrats to all of you who completed the map 🗺 🎉👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 1mo
ljuliel @Addison_Reads Congrats on completing it ! And good luck on the upcoming one. Maybe I can try that next year. I‘ll be a year behind everyone else. 1mo
Cinfhen Im going to attempt #ReadingEurope2020 but not sure if I‘ll get to all of those more obscure countries 😉 1mo
jessinikkip Ah, I just knew I remembered seeing people tag you @Cinfhen .... And no problem @ljuliel I only remembered the people i saw tagged most often in the posts. Last year I made a list of every state and classic books from that state plus books I owned from that state. Guess its time to break that list out again! 1mo
Addison_Reads @ljuliel I went through my shelves and kindle books before I started the challenge and was surprised to find that I had 38 out of the 50 states already. Rhode Island was my toughest state to find a book on my TBR that fit. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. 1mo
ljuliel Good luck @Cinfhen 📖. @jessinikkip It sounds like you‘ll have a running start then ! @Addison_Reads wow, that was lucky that you had so many already ! I think it‘ll be fun and something to keep me occupied. 😊 1mo
Cinfhen Thanks @ljuliel ❣️ 1mo
Crazeedi I'm doing #ReadingEurope2020 and a couple other challenges/buddy reads so I'll skip the states this year, I'm going to have a time just doing this 1mo
Hooked_on_books @jessinikkip Thanks for the tag! I‘m going to give Europe a try for 2020, but I look forward to following everyone‘s reading. This is such a fun challenge! 1mo
squirrelbrain Good luck everyone that‘s going to try this - it‘s such fun! Do tag one of us if you need help with a state. I also prepared a spreadsheet before I started last year, with 4 or 5 different books for each state so if anyone wants to see that.... 😁 1mo
Librarybelle Good luck!! 1mo
ljuliel @Crazeedi @Hooked_on_books Good luck with your challenges. The Europe one should be interesting to watch. . @squirrelbrain I‘d be very interested in seeing your list if you don‘t mind sharing. I‘m sure I‘ll get stuck in some of the states. 1mo
ljuliel Thanks @Librarybelle Feel free to step back in on this if you‘d like. I‘m just a participant , leftover from last year. Trying to do better this year. 🙂 1mo
Librarybelle I was really bad with the challenge this year! Who knows...maybe I will try to do more next year. Glad you‘re able to keep going for next year! 1mo
squirrelbrain @ljuliel - If you send me an email I‘ll send it to you... it‘s a bit big to post on here! helenharrogate at gmail dot com 1mo
TheAromaofBooks Thanks for letting me know @ljuliel !! Definitely want to participate in this, at least in a leisurely way. :-D @squirrelbrain do you mind if I email you for your list as well? Sounds useful!! 1mo
Scochrane26 @marleed Book Woman is a good one to choose for Kentucky. I didn‘t know about the blue people or library service before I read it. (edited) 1mo
squirrelbrain Of course @TheAromaofBooks - go ahead! 1mo
marleed @Scochrane26 I‘m intrigued to read it. I‘ve read Giver of Stars and it seems I should read both! 1mo
sblbooks I want to join in, I missed out this past year. I was new to litsy when they started, and didn't know about it. 1mo
ljuliel Drop back in anytime @Librarybelle 😊. @squirrelbrain - just saw your message. Will email shortly. @TheAromaofBooks Play along however you want and go at your own pace. No pressure. 🙂. @sblbooks you‘re more than welcome, and getting a good start at the beginning of the coming year. 1mo
NatalieR @jessinikkip Thanks for tagging me. I‘d like to do this challenge again next year. I only have 31/50 for this year, but I had fun trying! 😀 1mo
jessinikkip @squirrelbrain I hope you dont mind me sending an email as well? I had a list going but more options can never hurt, especially for states I'm limited on 1mo
squirrelbrain Of course not @jessinikkip - go ahead! 1mo
throwmeabook @ljuliel If it‘s not too late, I‘d like to join in on the fun! 1mo
ljuliel @throwmeabook Of course, you‘re welcome. It doesn‘t officially start til 2020, but it‘s fine by me if anyone wants a head start and is eager to begin now. I‘m reading my first book for it currently. I‘ll add you to the Tag List. 😊 1mo
4thhouseontheleft @ljuliel I may leisurely join in! Just committed to #ReadingEurope2020 and might as well try this one too. I‘ve decided to focus more on Litsy challenges than non-Litsy ones next year. ☺️ 1mo
ljuliel @4thhouseontheleft . It‘ll be great to have you. No stress. Take your time. You should be good to read any book and it‘ll fit in one of the challenges, no matter what the setting. I might try the Europe one next year if I can complete this one first. I have a one track mind so wouldn‘t do well trying to do another one. Same with books, one at a time. Anyhow, I‘ll add you to the Tag List and jump in whenever you‘d like. 🙂 (edited) 1mo
4thhouseontheleft @ljuliel Thanks! Is it ok if I start with my current book, even though it‘s not 2020 yet? 1mo
ljuliel Yes, it‘s fine with me. 😊. I‘m reading my first one too. I figure it‘s close enough to 2020, it doesn‘t make much difference. We might as well get started . @4thhouseontheleft 1mo
tdrosebud I'd like to join in. I'm matching a lot of my Christmas reading to this year's challenge, but I won't come close to finishing and want to take another shot at it. Since in trying to see how close I get this year, I'll start in January. 1mo
ljuliel Sounds great @tdrosebud . I‘ll add you to the tag list. Start whenever you‘re ready. 😊 1mo
megnews I started halfway through the year with no plan, just to see where my reading took me. It mostly takes me to the same places over & over. Lol. I‘m trying to be more intentional this year but I‘m notoriously awful at challenges so we‘ll see. I‘m planning a fun travel Tuesday prompt post to get recommendations from other Littens. 1mo
ljuliel @megnews. That sounds like a plan. I tend to read lots of books from certain areas too, but there are probably some states I‘ve never read a book from their setting. I guess we‘ll all try it and see how it goes. No pressure. I don‘t do well with challenges either, as I put too much pressure on myself , then get stressed and discouraged. So maybe our state challenge will take longer than a year. It‘s ok. 😊. We can just slowly chip away at it. 1mo
Nute I would like to join this fun adventure. I don‘t usually commit to reading challenges and now I‘ve said yes to two happening at the same time, but I‘ve got a whole year. I‘m very excited! Is this an official signup or is there a form? Anyway, the answer is YES! 4w
ljuliel Hi @Nute Nope, no official signup sheet. Anyone wanting to give it a try is welcome. No pressure. Reading should be fun, not a duty, so jump in anytime you‘re ready. 😊 4w
Crazeedi I'm joining in 3w
ljuliel Sounds great, @Crazeedi I‘ll be your cheerleader 📣 3w
