The protagonist's father was a composer, and I'm not far enough in to know all the connections, but music matters in this book.

The second half of my #MusicFic #booklist 😊! Have you read any of these? #LitsyLovesLibraries #MrBooksLists

Lcsmcat You‘re adding to my TBR! How Mark Schweitzer‘s Liturgical Mystery series? The Tenor Wore Tap Shoes, The Aalto Wore Tweed, etc. 6y
slhbooks Not a single solitary one😔 6y
Vansa The Tin Drum doesn't seem to fit in here, it isn't remotely connected to.music !! 6y

Bradleygirl I'mma add this one I'm currently reading 6y
MrBook @Vansa Quite a few reviewers suggest the drum is practically a (titular) character unto itself. Here's one review I had come across: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1228296356 6y
Conservio I read station eleven. It‘s well written and interesting, but it wasn‘t for me. 6y
Copwithabook @MrBook do you have a list for stories with large estates/grand houses/mansions at the center of the story? I can think of quite a few horror novels that fit the bill but was wondering if there are others outside of that genre I could add to my TBR 6y
MrBook @Copwithabook Ooh! Good one! If you care to share (😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻☺️🤗), please feel free to email me with those titles: jasonvigorito at gmail. 6y
rwmg @MrBook Is it worth mentioning for your patrons that some of these books have soundtracks on Spotify and presumably other such services? Eg Bel Canto and Magic Strings of Frankie Presto. 6y
Copwithabook @MrBook gmail said that wasn‘t a valid address 🤷🏻‍♀️ 6y
MrBook @Copwithabook 😳🤔 Try it again, silly Google 😆: jasonvigorito@gmail.com 6y
MrBook @rwmg Ohhhhhhhh 😳😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻!!! Wait, I think I came across one book that does 🤔. Delving into the recesses of my mind's memory banks can be a slogfest. (edited) 6y
MrBook @rwmg I'm a big-time Spotify user. We should connect on there. I know there's a way to do it, but I haven't done it before. 6y

Time for another pesky #booklist 😆! This time it's #MusicFic, or books wherein music plays a central role in the plot, and may even be considered a character in some sense. What do you think? Read any of these? This one is in conjunction with this year's #LibrariesRock #SummerReadingProgram theme. #LitsyLovesLibraries #MrBooksLists

Lcsmcat I‘m happy to see you included Gerald Elias‘ books! He and my husband were in the Utah Symphony together, and when he came to my book club he brought his violin and played some of the pieces mentioned in the books. 6y
slhbooks Only one...Bel Canto. I was dreading having to read it for book club. Thought for sure I wouldn‘t like it, but then I really enjoyed it! So nice when that happens🎶 6y
ephemeralwaltz Just Listen and the Murakami...one of my favorites 🖤🖤🖤🖤 6y

kidamy I've read a lot of Caitlin Moran, but not that one yet. I started reading Hornby's High Fidelity, but being a record/music collector myself, I had to put it away. It hit a little too close to home on some things and made me really uncomfortable. Probably a sign of its greatness, really. I'll get back to it someday. 6y
britt_brooke I‘ve only read Bel Canto, but I didn‘t care for it. 6y
Dragon Bel Canto, a favourite. 🐉 6y
