Tragic story of the failure of world leaders to secure the peace after WWII. Politics, paranoia, national pride, and simple greed (aka normal human nature) made lasting peace impossible. This book is a sad testament to the lost opportunities that still rack the world today. 4 🌟🌟🌟🌟
4th book for #SuperSeptember readathon @Andrew65 @EadieB

EadieB Great 👍🏻 job finishing your 4th book 📖 for the readathon! This book looks very interesting so I‘m stacking it! 3y
mobill76 Pink Floyd's The Final Cut would make a great chaser for that book. 3y

Tales of Famous Heroes is a (B) by Peter and Connie Roop and Illustrated by Rebecca Zomchek. The Tales of Famous is about the biography of 25 heroes and their achievements. The biography is from the heroes of today and history. This book is terrific for independent reading (IR) because it allows the students to explore heroes they might know about and learn about heroes from our history. #UCFLAE3414SP21

StephanyNunez The UDL principle for the biography and source is 7.1 (Optimize individual choice and autonomy). The source beneath will provide teachers with strategies to support students' independent reading. http://www.readwritethink.org/professional-development/strategy-guidessupporting... ESOL strategy 8 (Provide biographies of significant men and women from different Countries) #UCFLAE3414SP21

Adodd1 Using these books for an IR would be great, especially if they may use this book for resources for research! The link you provided showing the different strategies to support students is very helpful as well! 3y
DrSpalding This is a picture book biography, anthology. You can dip in and dip out of this book to read about significant men and women during social studies instruction. The English learner strategy is actually 28 rather than eight. 3y

This beautiful little book is full of so much wisdom. In it, the author shares many of the lessons taught to him by his grandfather, Mahatma Gandhi, during the time he spent living at his grandfather‘s ashram (starting when he was 12)

Nute Stacking! 2y
ReadingRachael @Nute I really enjoyed this! I liked how the author (Gandhi‘s grandson) wrote about how he perceived his grandfather as a child (he lived with his grandfather for a period of time) and then later as an adult. Lots of wisdom as well as gentle humour. 2y
Nute I bet that this provides great insight to Gandhi, the kind that can only be obtained from familial relationships. Looking forward to the shared wisdom. 2y

Day 4
This book has been on my shelf for years. I was intrigued by the juxtaposition between the two leaders. Appeals to my interest & concerns of post colonialism from an analysis stand point. Especially concerned with how it is presented if so with prejudice or not. Read the first two chapters & it feels dense. Hope to finish in 2021.
