How are you doing with #booked2018? We‘re partway through the second set of prompts, although reading any prompt at any time is perfectly okay. I‘m a bit out of order, but making good progress with ⬆️ books. My #setoutdoors book was in 1st quarter. And I‘ve grabbed #mcinvisibleillness from the last group.

Pickpick

Every single one of us needs to read this. And by “us” I mean both women and men.

The author‘s childhood was crazy. But more than that, this story makes women‘s pain a real thing. It‘s about how getting pain treated is not simple. The story is universal, therefore a little depressing, but mostly inspiring. Norman‘s writing is excellent!

BarbaraTheBibliophage @Libby1 @Alfoster She actually talks about that common mistake in her book! 🤣 6y

riversong153 I loved this!! It was amazing. 6y
Lizpixie After suffering from severe endometriosis since I was 13, I can tell you that women‘s pain is dismissed far far too easily. A gynaecologist told my mother when I was 16 I needed a shrink because I just wanted attention. She never believed my pain again, even when I was throwing up and clawing at the wall to try and get away from the pain. #myuterusistryingtokillme 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Lizpixie Oh my friend, that‘s so difficult to live with. You‘d find plenty to relate to in this book. 💕 6y
mrozzz And I need to finally get to this one! Uterus is a Feature has more of a business focus than a personal/medical one. 6y
DarcysMom @Lizpixie I am *so* sorry no one believed you. Every story I hear reaffirms how lucky I was that my primary doc and gynecologist believed me when I said something was wrong. 6y
