pickBased on a post by @silentrequiem last week and inspired by a picture posted by @Joyfulmimi the other day, I picked up this #DiverseMiddleGrade book today. It was fantastic. Jacqueline Woodson is my superhero - what a gift to write such a moving autobiography with the simplest words but most compelling manner. Told in verse, Jacqueline traces her family‘s roots both midwestern & southern crossing and weaving until arriving in Brooklyn. Beautiful

TheWordJar This was such a great read! I just checked out her newest, Harbor Me, from the library and can‘t wait to get started. Side note—SO excited to hear we can jump around for #Booked2019! Why didn‘t I know this before?? 🤦♀️ I just finished picking out my winter books but wasn‘t feeling in the mood to read them just yet. But there are some later season books I do want to read now!
