After my previous sad read (by a mother of one of the Columbine shooters), I‘m cheering myself up with this vintage children‘s novel about a very different sort of mother.

The four Verney sisters are quite determined to dislike the new wife their father is bringing home but Nan is equally determined to win them over. Well, she‘s already won me over with her lavish afternoon teas. #GreedyGuts

MARLOWS AND THE TRAITOR | Antonia Forest

Well, after my previous (super sad) true crime read, I‘m moving on to a nice vintage children‘s novel. Whew!

The tagged book is the second in the Marlow family series which follows eight siblings on their adventures in boarding school and on holiday. I highly recommend the first in the series ( Autumn Term), too!
