1. New books
2. It's actually from the movie Stanger Than Fiction. Harold says "who in their right mind in a choice between pancakes and living chooses pancakes?"
Dr. Hilbert: "Harold, if you pause to think, you'd realize that that answer is inextricably contingent upon the type of life being led... and, of course, the quality of the pancakes."

Vishal07 1. Popular Fiction or Poetry. | 2. ...the secret of the Great Stories is that they have no secrets. The Great Stories are the ones you have heard and want to hear again. The ones you can enter anywhere and inhabit comfortably. They don‘t deceive you with thrills and trick endings. They don‘t surprise you with the unforeseen. They are as familiar as the house you live in. Or the smell of your lover‘s skin. You know how they end, yet you listen as though you don‘t. In the way that although you know that one day you will die, you live as though you won‘t. In the Great Stories you know who lives, who dies, who finds love, who doesn‘t. And yet you want to know again.

That is their mystery and their magic. | 3. Haroun and the sea of stories.

Was tagged by @gjacobs for #Fridayfavorites 😀 I‘m a few days late but what the heck!

1) I work in a school library organized by genre, so I usually start in Relationships. In a bookstore, I head straight for the #yalit section

2) Can‘t go past Groucho Marx: “Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.”

3) Wonder

4) @HeidiCatherine @Clwojick @LadyRuthven @CoffeeNBooks @DebinHawaii

gjacobs Glad you still did it! Wonder is on my TBR list. :) 6y
KatColmer @gjacobs the Easter long weekend messed me up! Wonder is a fantastic gift book. Great for middle grade and YA alike 🙂 6y

tournevis I agree about #2, but I've come to like Surak's take on this better as I get older "Cast out fear. There is no room for anything else until you cast out fear." 6y
