I expected this one to be super weird and it was, but turns out it‘s my kind of weird. Croft explores the relationship between authors and their translators and plays with language (I‘m sure even more than I realized), as well as winking at her own work. I didn‘t love the ending and this won‘t be for everyone, but I dug it.

Friday was turning out to be a crappy day, but when I got home I had #bookmail, and that made everything alright (at least until tomorrow).

Leftcoastzen Bookmail definitely makes the day end better! Hope tomorrow is better! 5d

Such a charming tale! Told in two timelines, a story of love, loss, independent women, and rare books. With a little magic thrown in.

1) A toss-up between Jason Pargin's “Zoey Punches The Future In The Dick“ & “I'd Rather Be Reading“ by Anne Bogel
2) Tagged!

TheSpineView I'd rather be reading too. Just have not figured out how to get rid of the job and still eat! 🙃 1w

I really enjoyed this, I thought it worked really well as an audiobook. Shaun is grumpy but loveable bookseller, who did make me feel guilty for owning a kindle. And not so guilty about my hoard of books. He paints vivid images of his customers and staff - not always favourable but usually very humorous.

This was a very lovely written story of a library bringing two strangers together; a 16 year old boy and a 72 year old woman. Well-written and a heartwarming story.

CogsOfEncouragement I really enjoyed this one. 1w

I should have loved this book, and I had high hopes based on my previous experience with Cinemaps by the same artist/author. This one was disappointing because the books featured in the illustrations were overwhelmingly obscure. Even with an English degree, I found myself skipping about half of the books, since there were so many I hadn‘t even heard of and had no context for. Highlights were the “maps” of Pride & Prejudice and A Wrinkle in Time.
