Used this as a devotional companion to morning Bible study time. It‘s a wonderful guide to how to use the book of Psalms as a guide for prayer.

Halfway through Bonhoeffer‘s Letters and papers from prison and this little sentence really slapped me in the face.
…It is eerie to read the words of a man whom you know in the end dies and one whom suspects he will die.
Knowing what was to come made this a challenging read. It was interesting to learn more about Dietrich Bonhoeffer‘s family, beliefs and theological writings. Reading the horrors of the Third Reich never gets easier. It was enlightening to learn about the resistance and disheartening to realize that their plots failed so the regime did not fall sooner. Bonhoeffer‘s impact on Christian theology and a believer‘s place in the world is undeniable. 4⭐️s
“We will have to move through a very deep valley, I believe much deeper than we can sense now, before we are able to ascend the other side again. The main thing is that we let ourselves be led entirely and not resist and become impatient. Then it will all go right.” page 374
I've realized I own 8 Bonhoeffer books and they all have his face on the cover. 😂 They also range from 36 pages long to 1048 pages long! Bonhoeffer was a Lutheran pastor and theologian who resisted the Nazi regime and died in a concentration camp in 1945.
Spring semester is off to a hectic start... The class I'm most excited about right now is the special reading course I got to plan: "Bonhoeffer's Ethics, the Rise of Fascism, and the Church."
#BookReport / #WeeklyForecast: I only finished one book this week (tagged) & it‘s the one where I only had about 25 pages left. 🤦🏻♀️ But I‘m hoping to finish both in-progress reads & one other this week:
🦄The Little White Horse: 1/3 left, may finish this afternoon.
👑Sorcerer to the Crown: 1/4 finished—I‘m really enjoying it, but I‘ve been so distractible this week!
🗡Libriomancer: I need to both start & finish this, for book club next Sunday.
