pickI had some issues with the pacing, but was so glad to read something that took risks, and had something to say. The ‘Devil wears Prada‘ meets ‘Get Out‘ comparisons make sense, and the ending definitely planted it it firmly in the #socialhorror category. Nella was super relatable (for most of the novel 😉) and it handled the issues of code-switching and micro-aggressions really well. Not perfect but would definitely read this author again. #pop22
