It was a mistake to read this as my "before bed" book, because I was instantly hooked and didn't want to put it down so I could go to sleep. The characters are all wonderfully written and flawed enough that I was never sure if I should root for them or not. The book's central mystery was interesting enough, but all of the added layers made it even better, and you're never sure who to trust, even down to the final pages.
