Thoroughbred #01 A Horse Called Wonder
Thoroughbred #01 A Horse Called Wonder | Joanna Campbell
3 posts | 10 read | 1 to read
Ashleigh wouldn't care about anything, ever again. Ashleigh Griffen swore she'd never give her heart to another horse -- not after a terrible disease wiped out her family's breeding farm, along with Ashleigh's favorite mare, Stardust. Now the Griffens are starting over as breeding managers at Townsend Acres, and Ashleigh's sure she is going to hate living there. Then a small, sickly foal is born -- a beautiful copper filly that looks like Stardust. No one thinks the foal will live or that it's worth trying to save. No one but Ashleigh. Can one girl's love alone work miracles? Read Thoroughbred and experience the love and friendship between a determined girl and a very special filly.

I know many people grew up with this series. I never got into it. Instead I preferred The Saddle Club and the Heartland series. 🐎

MeganAnn Oh yes, I loved this series as a kid! ❤️ Also liked the Saddle Club. I actually didn‘t discover Heartland until a few years ago when I started watching the tv show with my family which we loved as well. I‘ve been meaning to pick up the first book ever since. I was clearly a horse lover growing up 🐎 3y
CrowCAH @MeganAnn I don‘t read too many horse books now, but I‘m still a horse lover! I started reading Heartland right when it came out back in 2000; they were the books I bought at the Scholastic book fair. I watched the TV on CBC, but fell off after a handful of seasons. I can‘t believe there‘s 14 seasons and they just announced a 15th will be made!!! 3y

My daughter just used her own money to buy all 72 books in the horse series I loved when I was her age. Obviously, we have not been watching Marie Kondo #raisingreaders #homeschoolkids

PurpleyPumpkin Love Marie Kondo, but disagree about books. You can never have too many!📚 5y

1) A Horse Called Wonder series (As a child I didn't know the horrors of horse racing, it was all about the horses.)
2) News of the World by Paulette Jules
3) Harry Potter 🙄
4) Harry Potter...and it just won't go away. I do like Rowling as a person though.
5) I don't like to push these things on people 🤷‍♀️
