In the bestselling tradition of The Friday Night Knitting Club and The Jane Austen Book Club, three women find unexpected answers, happiness, and one another, with Meryl Streep movies as their inspiration. Suddenly, Isabel, June, and Kat are sharing the attic bedroomand barely speaking. But when innkeeper Lolly asks them to join her and the guests in the parlor for weekly Movie Nightits Meryl Streep monththey find themselves sharing secrets, talking long into the night . . . and questioning everything they thought they knew about life, love, and one another. Each woman sees her complicated life reflected through the magic of cinema: Isabels husband is having an affair, and an old pact may keep her from what she wants most . . . June has promised her seven-year-old son that she will somehow find his father, who hes never known . . . and Kat is ambivalent about accepting her lifelong best friends marriage proposal. 9-30-23: My September Book Wrap Up! Not a lot of time to read since I started a new job two weeks ago and my days of laying out in the Florida sun and reading are now behind me. I enjoyed the ones I got to especially The Meryl Streep Movie Club which I gave 5⭐️. Let‘s see what October brings! 📖💖📚⭐️

9-15-23: My 87th finished book of 2023! Lolly, her daughter Kat and her nieces, Isabel and June, are thrust together one fateful night many years ago when the girls were young. Since then, they‘ve gone their separate ways until Lolly makes a big announcement and the girls come home. Interspersed with 10 Meryl Streep movies, the 4 women create new bonds, friendships, and long lasting love. I cried. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣8️⃣7️⃣

This really wasn‘t what I expected, in a good way! The story deals so well with some really difficult topics and manages to do so in an upbeat manner.

Oooh. This looks like a fun and easygoing book. Maybe I'll need to loan this out in January, after my no library books ban is up. 😉
