Edgar lives in constant terror of the ghosts he sees, but after meeting Jamie, he's motivated to start to examine his life and live in a way that allows him to be in a relationship.
This book was much more about anxiety, family, and relationships than ghosts, but I really enjoyed how the paranormal elements were able to create a cozy story.

I‘ve had a string of so-so books mixed in with good stuff I didn‘t like enough to read at a decent clip. It feels mighty nice to dive into something I don‘t want to put down! Alas, I‘ll soon have to stop reading THE (MOST UNUSUAL) HAUNTING OF EDGAR LOVEJOY so I can attend my first in-person football match. It‘d be a funnier prospect if it weren‘t raining, but I‘m still excited to apply everything I‘ve learned from World Cup viewing.

At first I *appreciated* this romance more than I really liked it. It has interesting queer rep: Edgar is an out but extremely withdrawn gay man; Jamie is non-binary, leaning masculine, with a history of bad experiences with cis gay men. It's easy for Jamie to think Edgar is turned off by them because his anxiety is so severe, he can barely communicate... because he sees dead people! (cont.)
