Okay, the way Stacey's diabetes was presented in this book was a bit over the top (why on earth don't her parents want her to tell anyone?!!), but Stacey does a pretty freaking badass job of advocating for herself, especially for a 12-year old, and this was the first book I remember reading as a kid that really taught me about an illness I didn't know much about. #disabilities #photoadaynov16
