I didn‘t read the first book and I felt to some extent this therefore meant it took a long time to get on top of the characters and what was happening in the story. As a result I didn‘t really enjoy the first half that much but got into the story more in the second half where it was more enjoyable. Although having said that I can‘t say that I ever fell in love with the characters, or found myself strongly rooting for them.

Andrew65 There just seemed something missing for me in this book in emotional attachment with the characters. This may have been impacted by the narrator and her style of reading the book, which in this case I felt limited my enjoyment of the book. I read a lot of the books of this style and overall I felt there are better books out there in this genre. 1y
Andrew65 For me it was an okay book but not really anything more I don‘t think I would read the first book following this. If you are planning to read the book I would personally say go straight to the book and avoid the audiobook but it might just be me.

julesG I agree with your review. I've read the first book, but I think you can read the second book as a standalone. Anyway, this book felt weird/off. I'm having a hard time to write a review. 1y
