The Ochre People
The Ochre People: Scenes from a South African Life | Noni Jabavu
1 post
In these memoirs from the author of "Drawn in colour," Jabavu recalls various experiences from the years she and her English husband spent with her Bantu relatives in South Africa after leaving London. She is particularly sensitive to the changing racial climate from when she had been a child living amongst a mixture of Africans, English, Jewish shopkeepers, Boers, and Coloured.
