Moon River and Me
Moon River and Me: A Memoir | Andy Williams
1 post | 2 read
A remarkable memoir by one of the most popular and beloved entertainers of the twentieth century When in the mid-1950s Andy Williams reached a low point in his career, singing in dives to ever-smaller audiences, the young man from Wall Lake, Iowa, had no inkling of the success he would one day achieve. Before being declared a national treasure by President Ronald Reagan, Williams would chart eighteen gold and three platinum albums, headline at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for more than twenty years, and host an enormously popular weekly television variety show whose Christmas specials still occupy a tender spot in every baby boomers heart. Williams knew everybody who was anybody during his seven remarkable decades in show business (including Judy Garland, John Huston, Jack Lemmon, John Lennon, Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and Barbra Streisand, among others) and was a close friend of Bobby Kennedy for many years, and he shares memories of them all in Moon River and Me. His millions of fans guarantee a huge audience for the autobiography of the plush baritone who at the age of eighty-onestill draws thousands of fans to his Moon River Theater in Branson, Missouri.

1. My mom gave us pjs the evening of the 24th. One year we got sleeping bags. No 🎁 now
2. Both are fine- I feel for Max & Marley‘s ghost is fun. I prefer Oscar the Grouch. He‘s way less mean and loves what he loves.
3. Both. I like reindeer. Nomadic folk are interesting. I also like snow and things made of snow.
4. Gingerbread everything! Sugar cookies are cool. Anything with sprinkles or hot cinnamon candy

GingerAntics lol that‘s fine...last week was absolutely crazy at work so I was actually sitting here hoping everyone would forget to tag me last week. lol 5y
jmofo @GingerAntics I hope this week‘s better for you!!! 5y
GingerAntics It should be. We‘re only open until Wednesday. It *should* now only be the students who waited until the last possible second, because this is finals week. 5y
jmofo @GingerAntics good to hear. Are you off for weeks then or do you get to do behinds the scenes stuff in relative peace? 5y
GingerAntics I‘m off until January sometime. I‘ve got to work on some presentations for our webinars, but other than that I‘m totally free to read and rest. If my boss decides to take time off for Christmas I may get some hours for winter term. 5y
jmofo @GingerAntics that sounds pretty sweet 5y
GingerAntics I think I would prefer the pay check. lol We don‘t get paid when we don‘t work. We only get paid once a month, so it makes January‘s check and February‘s check really small. 5y
Burghbookaddict My mom used to get us pajamas too! 5y
Stacy_31 I used to get pajamas on Christmas Eve, too. 😊😊 5y
jmofo @BurghBookAddict & @Stacy_31 I think it‘s a cool tradition. It‘s interesting that it was more common than I thought; I wonder how that got started. 5y
