I thoroughly enjoyed this short novel of a girl living on the streets of Gloucester. We never know her name - because she chooses not to tell us - names are important - but we travel with her through the minutiae of her life. There‘s humour and tragedy and hope, but above all this is a story of small kindnesses and being seen and the difference they make.

The Ghosts of Spring isn‘t on the longlist. A couple of weeks back, I stumbled across the RoC subscription, and finally succumbed. A book a month (or every 2/3 months) from a small press. This is my first one, and it‘s gorgeous!
