Exploring the Orchid Extravaganza at Longwood Gardens
The first bloom of the year. :)
Hopefully the deer, rabbits, and squirrels leave my garden alone this year.
They ate every single plant last year.
I really wasn't keen on the first half of this book. I found Max to be too much of a bully & he became unlikeable. The 2nd half was better & I liked Max and Lora's relationship more - it felt like a different book. I think the beginning is a reflection of the time period it was written more than anything, I don't think you'd find that much bullying in a romance novel these days. Overall I would say I liked the book, & would read more of Robards.
Going to start this next. Another kindle freebie! I've never read any Karen Robards, but I've heard she's good. Also, according to the publishing date, this came out in the 80s, so hoping it will be like the old classic romances that I borrowed from my mum back in the day... The ones that got me into romance in the first place. 😍 (feeling a bit nostalgic!)
