THE WORDS WE WHISPER by Mary Ellen Taylor is a wonderful family saga peeling back the layers in parallel timelines, characters that are flawed and realistic, and ending in a twist you did not see coming. A wonderful story of love, war, loss and the strength to carry on, a must read.

After about a 2yr hiatus from WW2 books, I decided to pick this one up and am glad. I love the legacy of all who helped the Jewish families escape, books like this will continue to highlight those brave souls. Taylor did a wonderful job preserving that and weaving the lives of the next generations. The characters “today” learn of their grandmothers remarkable past as she encourages them to read a treasured diary written during WW2. Book #6 in 2022
