so-so
⭐⭐⭐
This collection of poems is largely about our relationship with the earth, climate change, and nature's beauty. However, it was the final section that moved me most. There, Rubin writes about the before and after of the pandemic and the little things we unknowingly took for granted but, hopefully, no longer will.
My photo is of "The Whale Had Swallowed Plastic," a searing poem about the pollution of our oceans and our apathy to their demise.
