Wild Goose
Wild Goose | Laura Wall
1 post
Sophie, Goose and friends go on a fun new adventure into the wild, looking for treasure and discovering the joys of nature! Laura Wall s often laugh-out-loud illustrations bring this cheeky, loveable character to life, making him an instant favourite with readers young and old. AGES: 2+ AUTHOR: Laura Wall was born in 1985 in Gravesend, Kent. She lived here until the age of sixteen when she moved to Devon, here her love of art was nurtured and by the end of the year she was exhibiting in galleries around the Southwest. After receiving a scholarship, Laura attended University at Aberystwysth University of Wales in 2003 where she studied illustration and wrote the book Goose for her final year dissertation. After graduating Laura worked in television, but after three years gave this up to pursue a career in art. Returning to the book Goose Laura wrote three years earlier, she showed it to publishers and was offered to write and illustrate a four part series about Goose by Award Publications Ltd. The four part series was published in 2012 and another two books, Goose on the Farm and Goose Goes Shopping, were published a year later.

A very small #BookReport because reading isn‘t really happening for a couple of weeks.

Finished Anos Ku Ta Manda - poetry. Liked a lot.
Still going with Dark Pines. Enjoying this one.
Bailed on things that aren‘t worth bothering with.
Everything else is still in progress (ie sitting unlooked at on a shelf. Or under the bed. Or…)

HOWEVER, the really exciting bookish news was I got to take my niece on her first trip to the library. She

rockpools quite enjoyed herself. Couldn‘t actually sit and read anything because she needed to just check what was in the next crate. Quote of the day (repeated regularly) “More books about cats!” Blue cats are a particular favourite. (Also patchwork elephants!)

#WeeklyForecast - might as well get this in now. I‘m predicting reading absolutely nothing, except books about cats. And ducks. And elephants. And watching bagpuss.

Have a lovely week, folks
