During the Anglo-French War of 1294, many of King Edward's knights are taken hostage. Lady Illesa Burnel must find an ingenious way to free her husband before Fortune's Wheel tips them all into death and ruin. This gripping sequel to 'The Errant Hours' is a moving story about the savagery of war, the insistence of love and the power of illusion

Book 2 of 2 of the Arrowsmith series, this book follows Illesa and Richard, as a newly married couple. War once again intervenes and Richard is forced to go to Acquitaine, where he is captured and ultimately rescued by Illesa and an assortment of other characters. This was good. Rich presentation of daily life at their Manor Home and as a prisoner. Very interesting and I hope she writes another. 3.5/5.
