The narrative flows from one uncomplicated situation to another with an and-then, and-then rhythm that is soothingly undramatic, rather like staring out a train window at passing scenery. Our untrained genius MC Jack is universally adored by all the big hitters of the Lost Generation despite not seeming to have any discernible character trait other than naïveté. The passion for art shines most potently/uniquely thru the character Margaret ⬇️

Michael_Gee Who has the most interesting things to say about art and politics while also, poignantly, being the one character who so wants to be an artist but isn‘t seen as having the talent. 2y

I didn't read nearly as much yesterday as I'd hoped. It was a teacher workday, and our principal gave us the day off, but I spent most of the day grading semester exams. So, I'm off to a slow start for #20in4, but starting the day reading more of The Sun Rose in Paris, about a young artist. 🌞 🇫🇷 🎨
@Andrew65

kspenmoll I forgot to time my reading, but I did not accomplish much yesterday either. Too tired from my week of teaching! 3y
CoffeeNBooks @kspenmoll I've been reading a lot less than usual this school year- it's been so overwhelming, stressful, and exhausting! 3y
Andrew65 I‘m also off to a slow start to my own Readathon. 😂🙈 3y

Andrew65 @CoffeeNBooks So stressful, tired and so much more work that I‘m reading a lot less. Read around 2000 less pages than by this time last January. 3y
kspenmoll @CoffeeNBooks @Andrew65 It will soon be a year since all our lives have been turned upside down by Covid. I hope vaccines help us all- students & families are struggling. 3y

Happy Friday Morning! It's #20in4 Readathon time! Today is a teacher workday here, and our principal gave us the day off, so I'm starting my day with #coffeeandabook. Today's coffee selection to accompany my book is Barnie's Creamy Buttery Caramel. ☕📚 @andrew65
