The setting is 1980s suburban Japan, where cartoonist Rumi Hara grew up, cared for part-time by her grandmothers. Noriko is always running off, full of curiosity about the world around her, and each episode includes a daydream sequence showing Nori‘s wonderful imagination. Noriko picks her nose and wipes it on another girl‘s face… I‘m so glad I was never a preschool teacher! Although, come to think of it, there were memorable moments in my years of delivering preschool storytime at the library.
