I read this after just losing my mom Oct 5th so I am not sure if I wasn't fully engrossed or if my mind needed breaks so it took me a bit longer to read than it normally would. I liked that it took place in my home town and included references to places I know. It was good and there are some very well crafted beautiful lines throughout.

Pageturner1 sorry for your loss ❤️🙏 2y

5🌟Captivating story about mothers & daughters, secrets & betrayal. Kushwaha's talent for storytelling, beautiful and endearing prose really pulled me right in. I loved how seamlessly she intersected these womens stories. With intergenerational secrets, family drama, cultural obligations, the complexities of mother-daughter relationships and the things women will struggle to carry in order to keep up society's expectations of them. Wonderful read!
