The finely written story of seven women in contemporary India, each of them burdened with secrets and a heritage of guilt that they convey to their daughters, reveals the casual deceptions of family life and the power of love. A first novel. 15,000 first printing.

My Audible listening stats for 2022. I tend to listen mostly in the car, and occasionally while cooking or doing chores. But it‘s funny, I used to not be into audiobooks. I just had to learn what works for me. For example, needing to sample the audiobook before committing because if I don‘t like the narrator then it just won‘t work. Now I love audiobooks. Here‘s to more listening in 2023!

A request for help, Littens! I am new to audiobooks. I am also very frugal & work with a tight personal budget. What are your best tips & tricks for getting your money's worth & for finding free/inexpensive books? I am trying a few months of Audible -- is it worth it? If I decide to cancel my Audible membership, how do I find/listen to books? Any help is appreciated -- I truly know nothing!

Bookgoil Check your public library - mine uses Overdrive, Hoopla and Axis 360 for audiobooks - all have apps and work somewhat similar to Audible 7y
Bookgoil But they're free with your library card! 7y
SaturnDoo I use Overdrive also thru the library with my card. 7y

Lola Yes to the library option! 7y
Joybishoptx Overdrive and Hoopla are my go tos for graphic novels and audio. I don't listen to much audio though. But the library is the way to go. 7y
mom2bugnbee I can't believe I didn't immediately think of the library, since I use mine so much for print & ebooks. Mine uses Overdrive. Thank you, ladies! 7y
Varshitha You can try Librivox, they have many classics books over there.. The books are read by people who volunteer to do so.. I have found many good one's there but if you looking for latest books, you might not find them here.. 7y
SaraFair I got 3 free audiobooks through my Amazon Prime free membership to Audible. Then I cancelled cause didnt want to pay. I did Overdrive too but mostly listen at home where I have unlimited data. 7y
