pickHelen Garner is an Australian writing treasure and I have loved her work for many years. She is from my home town of Melbourne and my mum was a huge fan, so I feel like I‘ve grown up with her.
This book of excerpts from her 1978 - 1987 personal diaries was released recently. No surprise that I loved it. Full of self doubt and observations of daily life, all written in her succinct, crisp yet beautiful style.

Also quite predictive given that much of her work is either non-fiction or short stories, rather than novels 🤔.
