It‘s finally binge time! I‘m gonna gulp down the last 100 pages of GILDED CAGE fast as ever I can (which isn‘t very fast, alas. I envy you 100 pages per hour people).
Y‘know, I thought 2020 was my Year of Awesome Memoirs, but it‘s also shaping up to be my Year of People Getting Framed. In the last month, I‘ve read a bunch of things where someone gets framed for an awful crime. Here, it‘s murder.
Today on Dubious Life Choices: I started GILDED CAGE by KJ Charles at bedtime. Now I‘m 65 pages in and grumpy I‘ve gotta go to sleep instead of binge-reading my little heart out.
(And yeah, this book also leaves the cover image out of the file. I really want to know why ebook formatters do this. I‘ve heard Amazon takes more of a cut if the title‘s got illustrations; maybe that‘s got something to do with it?)
I evaded my fear of duplicates today by buying mostly books I already own in ebook. It was a definite Fuck The Tories spree at a delightful local queer bookshop/social space, and I regret nothing.
Except possibly that I ate too much lunch and couldn't try either of the Fuck The Tories cakes my wife made to take with us.
Anyway, Hulk has concerns I'm spending her treat money on books. #bunniesoflitsy
And I might start Gilded Cage tonight...
