77 Fragments of a Familiar Ruin
77 Fragments of a Familiar Ruin | Thomas King
2 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
Timely, important, mischievous, powerful: in a word, exceptional Seventy-seven poems intended as a eulogy for what we have squandered, a reprimand for all we have allowed, a suggestion for what might still be salvaged, a poetic quarrel with our intolerant and greedy selves, a reflection on mortality and longing, as well as a long-running conversation with the mythological currents that flow throughout North America.

First book done for #fourfoursin21 - memorial @Lauredhel

Really enjoyed this (as I expected I would). I'd like to get a copy of this and keep revisiting it periodically as I know I'd keep getting more out of it.

Now that I've read and enjoyed King's nonfiction and poetry, maybe one of these days I'll get around to his fiction that I've been wanting to read for ages...

Today I walked 8.5 miles and visited two libraries. It would‘ve been rude to leave without borrowing a bunch of comics and some poetry.

Lindy Excellent choices! 5y
xicanti @Lindy I was excited to find them all! I didn‘t even realize Thomas King had a poetry collection out until I caught sight of it on the New Additions shelf. 5y
Lindy @xicanti King‘s poetry collection is news to me too. I look forward to seeing what you think of it. 5y
