Die den Sturm ernten
Die den Sturm ernten: Wie der Westen Syrien ins Chaos stürzte | Michael Lüders
6 posts | 1 read

In parts this was eye opening to me. The phenomenon of political power and geopolitics was explained well. While listening I understood everything but after a few hours I can‘t summarise its content. It‘s so compressed and concentrated. Better don‘t put it away to not lose track.
Additionally, I here and there felt like I need more explanation, maybe more repetition, to understand or be able to recall certain intentions.

Conclusion: Asking stuff.

Come-read-with-me @Buechersuechtling You chose some of the most interesting, intense, and diverse books. Thank you so much for sharing! You‘re keeping my TBR list growing. ðŸ‘🻠5y
Buechersuechtling Oh. Do Iâ“ You know, I don‘t feel that way, myself. I often think: “I should read this and be more interested in that …â€; I often think I read too much novels so your wonderful compliment completely caught me by surprise. But it‘s heart-balm. It makes me happy – and I very much thank you‼ï¸ðŸ™‡ðŸ½â€â™€ï¸ 5y

Above you see me on my Wednesday (symbolic image).
I was so exhausted yesterday, 10 hours at work is definitely too long. ?

@Ruthiella Thank you so much. It _is_ kind of Friday for me, today. ? I took some days off and I so much hope to recoup.

When it comes to the tagged book about the war in Syria ?? confirmation bias is real for me. ??â€â™€ï¸ Lüders _has_ good points but I catch myself thinking: “Ain‘t that too hard said?†?

Yesterday I told a friend of mine that it was a kind of “head-to-tableâ€-day for me and that I please want that day to go away and to not come back tomorrow.

This is what she answered: “Don‘t worry, Mrs Tuesday is coming tomorrow and Mr Monday won‘t return before next week.â€

😂 Well, she _was_ right – but what Mrs Tuesday brought along was only slightly not as awkward Monday had been. 😩

Ruthiella Hope Friday comes for you soon! 5y

This book leaves marks. On me and hopefully on all the others reading it. Phew.

No easy read because you need to be listening attentively and so it‘s best to not deal with it in too many sittings – but … if you ever sat in front of the evening news thinking: “Why? What? How …?†this could be the book for you. It explains backgrounds of some events I always had a strange feeling in my guts about.

I like it.
Different but I like it.

Less than 30 minutes in and already a lump in my throat.

It‘s not new to me but at the moment I am very surprised how much a story depends on the perspective of the one who tells it.

Apart from that, this might not be appropriate reading stuff for tonight. I ran from pillar to post today and feel so exhausted. 😩

Glad it‘s Tuesday tomorrow and hoping that this Monday will not be repeated anytime soon.

In case I really finish my “chick litty†audiobook tonight I have already picked another audiobook. It‘s non-fictional and shall tell about the roots of the conflict in Syria 🇸🇾. It‘s mostly said that Mr Assad has a big share of being a guilty party but this audiobook shall also demonstrate that the “good†Western countries are not as innocent as public opinion‘s common sense mostly indicates.

Looking forward to this‼ï¸

Come-read-with-me @Buechersuechtling Sounds like an interesting and very timely next read. Looking forward to your review! 5y
