From the beginning the plot reminded me of “Room”. And maybe it‘s that association that left me so prejudiced.

I must admit that I haven‘t read “Room” after I heard someone disturbing things about it. I only saw the film they made – and this couldn‘t convince me, either. Don‘t know. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I‘m sure it‘s me.

Mehso-so

I‘m too demanding, I think. Yes, I read it in two sittings – but most of the last 100 pages I scanned only. The setting should be scary and horrible. But to me it wasn‘t. Am I too hardened❓ Right from the beginning I couldn‘t establish a connection to the characters. Hannah was just an annoying smart-aleck. And the father … I‘m out of words for such a typical “My-little-girl“-dude. 🙄

Not too bad but I‘ll have it forgotten soon.

A recommendation by my sister. Since she gave it to me every time I now see her she asks excitedly: “Have you read it⁉️ Have you read it⁉️” I know she doesn‘t mean to … but: That‘s _a_bit_ annoying. 😉

So: Let me peek in to at least be able to say: “I started.” next time I meet her.

Might also be a good distraction from my worries with the audiobooks from my library that this week don‘t want to download properly. 😢
