A Jar of Fingers (The Complicated Life of Deegie Tibbs Book 1)
A Jar of Fingers (The Complicated Life of Deegie Tibbs Book 1) | C.L. Hernandez
1 post | 2 read
Deegie Tibbs is an independent young witch with a funky little shop that sells magical items, a crazy collection of magical friends, and a brand new (haunted) house, complete with ghosts in the walls and a basement with a gallon jar of human fingers and its very own demon. It’s a complicated life…and things are about to get really weird.

Mehso-so

I really wanted to like this, but I didn't. It fell flat, felt superficial, and struggled to pull me in. It's a short read, otherwise I would have quit. The writing style left much to be wanted, and the overuse of unnecessary hyphenatation (almost on every page) grated on my nerves. It lacked passion but had potential, which is really sad because I had high expectations. Sadly, 2 stars.
