Thankfully the love story in this novel didn‘t overwhelm the character and setting development, which is excellent! Beautiful writing. Pic in WY mountain stream is apropos of the story, which covers a large swath of WY and MT. (P.S. I love Butte, MT, home to MC.)

My MT buy yesterday! I am trying not to speed thru it, so I‘m alternating it with another. So far I‘m engaged with the writing. 😁

Set in the forbidding wildlands of Montana and spanning over sixty years across the beginning of the twentieth century, American Copper tells a story both breathtakingly intimate and vast in scope. Addressing the infinite complexities of race, class, gender, and cultural imperialism, it brings the American West vividly to life. Beautiful, lyrical, tough, and heart-breaking, you‘ll remember this book long after you‘ve turned the last page.
