'Had me gripped throughout.' IAN RANKIN You trust your family. They love you. Don't they? When 17-year-old Eva Olsen awakes after a horrific accident that has left her bedbound, her parents are right by her side. Devoted, they watch over her night and day in the attic room of their family home in the forests of Norway. But the accident has left Eva without her most recent memories, and not everything is as it seems. As secrets from the night of the accident begin to surface, Eva realises - she has to escape her parents' house and discover the truth. But what if someone doesn't want her to find it? An edge-of-your-seat, atmospheric psychological thriller for fans of Lucy Clarke and Erin Kelly. I don‘t read many thrillers, so this was fun to read. Eva wakes up one day and is told that she‘s been in a serious accident, but she doesn‘t remember anything about it including who was driving the truck when they crashed. And why are her parents being so secretive and keeping her locked in the attic of their house? There were several twists that kept this book surprising, and the setting of Norway is beautifully described.

tracey38 Sounds very intriguing. And I like how you describe the Norway setting being wonderfully written. 4y

It took me a little while to get into this story, maybe a third of the way through it, but when I did I found it really rather gripping! It‘s quite an intense read. The unease mounts up beautifully and I was eager to pick the book up each time I had a spare moment to read on. I loved the setting. The descriptions of the landscape were very vividly depicted and it was easy to visualise. A well written and engrossing psychological thriller.

Isabel Ashdown‘s writing really conveys Eva‘s confusion and her state of mind while she tries to remember everything…..the tension is slowly building with plenty of twists to keep you turning the pages……just what is happening? And how is this linked to Maxine in London?
