It is what it is. If anyone asks what I‘m reading, I respond with old, 80s, chauvinistic romances because really, it‘s not much else. They hate each other, they fight, they fall in love. The man is manly and exerts his dominance. The woman is strong (of course) but simpering and in need of a strong man‘s loving.

They don‘t go much further than that... but that‘s why I love them. 🤣

I‘m trying to find and read all of Sandra Brown‘s old romances. I have 14 left to find, and this is my last to read of the ones I own.

I feel like this cover has a little bit of a True Crime feel though... that might be why I saved it for last! 🤣

Pickpick

A bit dated. No cell phones; car bed for the baby; excitement over a fancy new typewriter. But the story still holds up well and was very enjoyable. Of course there's a big misunderstanding with an ‘other woman‘, and that was the only time I got irritated at Katherine for not standing up for herself and at Jace for not communicating with her. Still, I very much enjoyed it and at the end was racing through the pages to finish before going to sleep.

I love Sandra Brown. I have most of her books in my library. This is a very early book first done under another pen name. I‘ve had it on my shelf for a while and finally just read it this weekend as a #birthdayguiltypleasure read. It took me back in time to the 80s. My reading tastes have evolved over the years as has her writing. I feel like I have grown with her thru the years. I‘m looking forward to reading her new book, Outfox, next weekend.

RenePenn This would‘ve been a Pick for me in the 80s. ❤️ 5y
