White palace
White palace | Glenn Savan
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Max is an up-and-coming advertising man and a devastated widower. Celibate since his wife's tragic death, Max suddenly and shockingly finds himself careening into a torrid affair with a woman from the other side of the tracks--a lusty, hard-drinking, passionate 41-year-old White Palace waitress named Nora. This is the story of how their back-breaking, one-night stand turns, quite remarkably, into an amazing kind of love.

(Day 19 - #MrsRobinson)

Okay, this was so tough because all I could think of was “The Graduate.” But then that movie made me think of cougars, which then made me think of Glenn Savan‘s (RIP) book, which then made me think of “White Palace,” The movie, starring Susan Sarandon & James Spader. How‘s that for a convoluted reference?! 😂

writerlibrarian I loved that movie..then again young James Spader ... my Daniel.. 😊 (edited) 5y

gradcat @writerlibrarian I‘m so glad someone else saw it...I love, love, love Spader, ever since “Sex, Lies & Videotapes,” and still to this day! I‘m an occasional “Blacklist” viewer, just for Spader! 🥰 5y
GatheringBooks Love love love Blacklist! :) So great to see Spader with hair!! 😂🤣🧚🏼‍♀️ 5y
Reggie I loved that movie, especially when she tells the dad off at Thanksgiving!!! 5y
gradcat @GatheringBooks When I was younger, and he had hair, I had such a crush on him...how embarrassing it is to develop these fantasies over actors!! I used to watch Blacklist very regularly, only this season I‘m way behind! I‘m sure I‘ll catch up, though. 5y
gradcat @Reggie And yet another person who has seen the movie...I know exactly which scene you‘re referring to...I, too, loved the movie! 🎥❤️ 5y

White Palace--the book that gave legitimacy to the trade paperback original novel.
