Hey littens! I've been MIA for a bit because I've been super stressed with my temporary job coming to an end and some slight medical issues on top of everything else. But things are finally calming down, I'm feeling much better and I'm happy to say I found a new job! I'm officially a legal clerk at a law firm! I have an English degree and know nothing about law, anyone have any book recommendations? Fiction or non-fiction recs welcome.

Lcsmcat Congratulations! What kind of law, and what state? (I‘ve worked as a paralegal in Utah and NC.) 5y
BlameJennyJane Congrats on the new job! No book recs that I can think of but a good dose of How to Get Away with Murder would get your legal feet wet! Probably not the kind of firm you are getting yourself into though! Lol 5y
BethM Congrats! 5y

CaliforniaCay @Lcsmcat Thanks! I work for a firm that specializes in debt collections in California. I'm still in training but so far it looks like I'll be doing data entry to start with. I think I can see myself being a paralegal eventually, seems more fun than debt collections, how did you like it? 5y
CaliforniaCay @BlameJennyJane thanks! And that's so funny that you mention How to Get away with Murder! I started binge watching it last week! It's definitely very different from the kind fo work I do but I'm hooked none the less! 😆😬 5y
Lcsmcat I loved doing criminal defense and liked family law. Civil litigation, not so much. I‘d recommend, for learning the jargon and understanding attorneys 5y
Lcsmcat Good luck! 5y
CaliforniaCay @Lcsmcat stacked both recs, thanks so much! 5y
