Black Abacus
Black Abacus | Ian Keteku
1 post | 1 read | 1 to read
Black Abacus explores the equations that make us human, the mathematics behind hate, love and the hidden moments digging for truth. Afro-futurist poet and 2010 World Poetry Slam winner Ian Keteku blends time and space, encouraging readers to see themselves as more than human; as part of a celestial narrative. Strongly influenced by his upbringing and journeys throughout Africa, Keteku's work follows in the lineage of African storytelling by paying homage to the past while conjuring a thought-provoking future.

This is a stirring, powerful and inspiring collection. Themes of family, mythology, life, death, and faith as well as influence from his African upbringing. His use of vivid imagery and talent for writing verse leave a strong impression on the reader. I really enjoyed this one. I tried to savor it as much as I could. Beautifully tender and raw, I will definitely revisit this collection again and again.
